5 Signs a Guy or Girl is interested in you

In the modern age of online dating, the prolonging of marriage things are much more complicated for singles than ever before. It can be tricky to tell if a guy/girl really likes you. With recent movies like “He’s not that into you” or “Friends with Benefits, ” which depict the complications of modern romance, it can be confusing to distinguish between casual flings and relationships that have the potential for long-term commitment.

If you’re on the fence about whether someone of the opposite sex is really interested in you, here are five sure fire ways to tell that he/she really likes you (or not):

1.)  He/She reaches out/communicate with you often. It could be a text good morning, a phone call during the day to see what you’re up to, g-chat at while you’re working, or making plans for dinner that night. By keeping in touch with you through out the day it demonstrates that you are on his/her mind and there is an interest in what you’re doing when the two of you aren’t together. A minimum of two points of daily contact (whether in person, phone, text, email, etc.) shows a good amount of interest in your life. No matter how busy a person is, if he/she is truly interested in you he/she will make the time to reach out, it takes about 5 seconds to send a text.

2.)  She/He introduces you to his friends and family. If someone is really interested in making your relationship a part of their life he/she will include you in things that connect you to the other people in their lives. They will also encourage you to have a relationship with these people; their friends, parents, siblings, etc.

3.)  The person you’re with takes an interest in your life outside of the relationship. Whether it’s your career, friendships, your future goals, or your hobbies if a person is interested in you he/she will ask questions about your life and want to know more about you as a person, beyond how you relate to him/her.

4.)  She/He shares personal, confidential information with you. Emotional intimacy is a big part of romantic love. If a person is willing to share his/her secrets, fears or dreams with you this shows that there is trust between the two of you. This is a huge step toward creating a bond that could be long-term.

5.)  While everyone will always be attracted to people of the opposite sex, once a person is happily in a committed relationship or at least moving in that direction, there will be little interest in pursing other men/women. As we get closer to having our emotional and physical needs met by a partner in a healthy relationship there is less need or desire to seek these things out in alternative relationships. Why stray from home when all you need/want is already there?

These are just a few of the ways to tell if a person is interested in more than a casual fling. What are some ways that you’ve been able to tell that someone was really into you? What would you add to this list?
